(The following was originally posted on my Carepages blog for family and friends during my treatment.)
Here's where I'm at and what's happened so far. . . on February 13, 2017, I went to the doctor with what I thought was a boil on my left side. He thought it was an abscess, maybe even MERSA, so he put me on an antibiotic and scheduled me to see a surgeon the next day.
On February 14 (yes! Valentines Day!) I saw the surgeon in the early morning and since I hadn't eaten, they took me directly over for a biopsy. On my recheck two days later, I went back into surgery for a second biopsy and to receive a port. By this time I had been told it was breast cancer (TNBC).
Since then, I've had a bunch of other tests and have more to go. I am slated to have chemo. I can't remember all the details right now. Tim is my rock in that department. Today I couldn't even write down a date right, so he is keeping me in line, writing down all the important info, driving me to all the different tests, and making sure I eat.
Right now, things look hopeful and optimistic. My doctors are great and we have been given lots of information. I have people praying all over the world and welcome them. Mostly I am looking for encouragement, laughs, and joy.
